Our Process
Welcome to Indigo Run Designs! We are thankful you've stopped by and we would love to share more about what we do. Start to finish, the process for our cookie creations can take at least three days to complete, we will show you why below:
1. Order Consultation
Submit your inquiry through the cookie request form, DM us on Instagram, or send us an email. We will reach back out to you as soon as possible to discuss details and next steps.

2. Supply Preparation
We ensure that our cookies are made in real time with quality ingredients, so during this step, we are shopping for fresh eggs, butter, flour, sugar, etc. The cost of ingredients directly flows into our pricing structure- as of August 2024, the cost for one batch of dough is just under $40. If you have chosen a design that requires a custom cookie shape, we will also 3D print your cutter during this step.
3. Bake, Roll, & Cut
As the saying goes, at this stage we are "cookin' with grease!" (not literally).
Here, we will bake your cookies, roll out the dough, cut out your shapes, and chill the cut dough overnight.

4. Color Coordination
Again, we strive for high-quality, high-taste cookies! While your dough chills, we are making your icing and getting the colors just right. Depending on how deep the hue, the icing sometimes needs up to three hours for the colors to develop! Icing preparation and decorating are the two most labor-intensive steps in the process. We adjust the viscosity according to your design, then bag the icing for step 5.

5. Flood and Detail
You know those uniquely satisfying reels/ tiktoks from your favorite cookiers where the frosting seems to cascade across the cookie? This is a technique called "flooding," which is where we fill in the backdrop of the cookie. Flooding can be solid color, patterned, or in some cases, textured.
Once flooded, we wait for the icing to completely dry (typically overnight) before moving on to detail. Details can be hand-piped, stenciled, or air-brushed according to your design.

6. Wrap, Pack, & Deliver
Lastly, your order is packaged according to your preferences. For individually-wrapped (which we recommend for freshness), we place each cookie into an individual mylar bag and then heat seal it. For boxed orders, we first place crinkle cut paper onto the bottom of the box to create a cushion, then add to cookies to the box before sealing. Orders are sealed with a sticker to lead you back here, where you can find storage recommendations and allergen information. Then it's delivery time! You will either pick up directly, meet in Indy Metro, or have your order delivered.
